Teaching and coaching
Explain clearly. Prepare carefully. Adjust to the person.
I currently teach 7th, 8th, and 9th grade mathematics at Laurens Academy. Previously, I supported a college football program as an assistant strength coach and tutored college students in mathematics and writing.

Mathematics at Laurens Academy.
Teaching a concept means making the next step visible, giving students a chance to try it, and finding out what still needs explaining.
Across grades 7–9, I prepare explanations and practice for new material and check understanding during the work. The role calls for content knowledge, classroom organization, patience, and a willingness to reframe an explanation when it is not landing.
Preparation
A lesson is a sequence of decisions.
My planning framework moves from a clear objective to an independent attempt, then uses a check for understanding to decide what comes next.
- 01Set the objective
- 02Work an example
- 03Guide practice
- 04Let students attempt
- 05Check understanding
Former role
College football strength coaching.
As an assistant strength and conditioning coach, I supported collegiate training sessions, athlete development, preparation, accountability, and facility operations.
Coaching required watching execution, communicating a useful correction, and staying attentive to safe performance and the needs of a team. It also informed the training tools I later directed and reviewed.
Individual support
Mathematics and writing tutoring.
In college, I served as a mathematics supplemental instructor and a writing center tutor. Those roles meant explaining course material, helping students organize their thinking, and giving feedback on academic and professional writing.
A one-to-one conversation reveals exactly where someone is stuck. The useful response is specific: ask a question, show a step, or make a revision concrete.
Practical tools
When repeated needs suggest a system.
Training plans, completed sessions, and feedback are easier to use when connected. I brought the coaching context and review decisions to an AI-assisted development process for an Excel training system and a software capstone. The tools are documented with their current limits.
