FAST Strength Software

A Python and Django capstone connecting workout planning, set logging, training history, and a video-review workbench.

The problem

Bring the plan, the completed workout, and video feedback into one workflow while keeping each lifter’s records under their control.

Project details

  • IT 406 capstone; developed with AI assistance and iterative workflow review
  • Local browser checks cover upload, correction, playback, download, and deletion
  • A source-only labeling viewer is implemented; independent human labels and motion-accuracy validation are not complete
  • Automated checks cover workout records, permissions, background jobs, and concurrency
  • The application is in development. Automated tracking remains experimental and the software is not a public client service.

Features

Programmed and one-off sessions with set entry, history, and volume calculations
Workout-builder and exercise-specific defaults
Video upload, background processing, playback, and manual corrections
A source-only frame-label viewer for private reference review
Owner-scoped records and accepted coaching access
Download and deletion workflows with repeat-submit protection
PythonDjangoJavaScriptPostgreSQLAutomated tests

Approach

  1. 1

Define the workout and review workflows from training experience

  2. 2

Build the data models, browser interactions, and access checks

  3. 3

Use local demonstrations to review entry, correction, and recovery behavior

  4. 4

Check the implementation with Windows and PostgreSQL test runs

Current focus

Connecting workout logging with reviewable video feedback.

Next milestone: Review independent motion labels before making tracking-accuracy claims.

Workout logging and video review

The FAST Strength capstone now connects workout records with an owner-scoped video workbench for playback, correction, and downloads. Automated tracking remains a research component.
